responsibilities include;

  • Developing roadmaps for observability across the Market Intelligence, MI, estate. This will include selection of monitoring tools, monitoring and alert gap identification and remediation, reviewing performance alert definitions and methodologies, and building out a deployment framework to support a consistent observability capability across the data technology estate for MI.
  • Support the development of a “Performancemunity” within Data Services Engineering, DSE, and expand that to include all the different teams and business units in MI to ensure that we have the necessary relationships developed and to allow formunity input into the DSE Performance team workstreams.
  • Review and rmend improvements to maintenance processes to ensure that performance optimizations are considered in all aspects of maintenance, including index optimizations, statistics management, and appropriate index management is maintained (add or remove).
  • Provide periodic reviews with business partners to ensure proper cloud cost management and optimizations where appropriate. The DSE performance team should be an advocate and an enabler for proper sizing and performance optimization to ensure that we are fiscally responsible with cloud usage.
  • Work with business partners to support performance optimization efforts to ensure that product performance aligns with customer requirements.
  • Provide architectural guidance to development / product teams on technology choices and performance options. This can include “right sizing” efforts at times of build or in support of cloud “modernization” efforts.
  • Provide escalation support for operations teams as needed when there are performance issues impacting MI products.
  • Review new technology options that would be beneficial for MI business cases across all cloud providers, known vendors, and emerging technologies.
  • Review uing release benefits across supported technologies for performance and availability improvements and share appropriate feedback across the team.
  • Ensure that documentation is provided for any processes that are developed in support of performance initiatives that require operational oversight so that appropriate transitions of those responsibilities can be achieved.
  • Support performance tuning of queries on a rare, as needed basis.
