Overview

The Peer Worker role is designed to support the rest of the team engage with service users within a street outreach setting.

Responsibilities

Additionally, this role aims to support those with lived experience to gain employment and build skills and experience for their own professional development.

The Peer Workers are anticipated to be people who themselves have lived experiences of homelessness and understand how it feels to be in that position.

The main function of the Peer Worker is to be a friendly and consistent face to the people we work with, using engagement skills and signposting service users to relevant support agencies. They will also be expected to build links within the community and create strong working relationships with stakeholders, including community-based groups in the homeless pathway.

Finally, the Peer Workers will also lead on gaining feedback from service users in order to improve and develop our service.

Peer Workers will work with those who are directly impacted by homelessness as well as working with key partners to empower communities.

Salary Range (pro rata if part time)

CGL points 17 to 19 (£22,357.18 – £23,525.95)
