About the role
Working for Gloucestershire Domestic Abuse Support Service (GDASS – part of GreenSquareAccord) , GDASS provides support to victims of domestic abuse (16+) living in Gloucestershire.
In addition to support services, GDASS also operate a helpline and manage the Places of Safety properties.
We are now recruiting for a Floating Support Worker on a full time, permanent basis in Gloucester.
To work as part of the Floating Support team, you will support clients to live a life free from domestic abuse. Identifying risk and creating support plans based around risk and moving on from domestic abuse. This include providing advocacy, supporting them to understand the dynamics of abuse and signposting.
The role is within the Gloucestershire Domestic Abuse Support Service Team, who provide support to victims of abuse in Gloucestershire. The first response Team are the first point of contact for customers and agencies referring into the service. You will offer support, advice, advocacy and assistance to people who are experiencing domestic abuse.
Please note that if you are successful in this role, we will require a DBS check to be completed. Further details will be sent following offer.
About you
You will have experience of DASH completion.
You will have experience of managing complex, sensitive customer queries, remaining calm when dealing with emotional, difficult or distressed people.
You must have an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and the need to follow policy and procedures.
You must have the ability to deal with a demanding workload and to prioritise effectively whilst maintaining attention to detail.
