The Team

The Credit and Risk Solutions (C&RS) business is looking for a high impact Head of Technology to lead the technology organization as it embarks on a multi-year product build phase across its individual business lines. This position reports to the S&P Global Market Intelligence CTO and is directly responsible for all technology deliverables associated with business goals

Credit and Risk Solutions is a business unit within S&P Global Market Intelligence dedicated to providing products and services in credit and other risk categories that intersect credit. It comprises of three business lines:

  • Credit Solutions -Desktop, feed and API platforms and distributes S&P Global Ratings content such as ratings, research, analytics and insights to investors, investment and commercial banks, insurance, non-financial corporates, and a range of governmental and other entities
  • Credit Analytics – Provides a robust set of models and data to reliably assess the Credit Risk of rated and unrated, public, and private companies across the globe
  • Financial Risk Analytics – Provides products and solutions to financial institutions to measure and manage their counterparty credit risk, market risk, regulatory risk capital and derivative valuation adjustments

    • C&RS is a high growth business unit and S&P Global has identified Credit as one of the key strategic pillars in achieving revenue growth

    The Impact

    As Head of Technology for C&RS, you will be tasked with building products and delivering high quality software solutions to enable Go to Market plans for the business with direct impact to the bottom line. The role sits in the C&RS Management as well as the S&P Market Intelligence technology leadership teams with a say in enacting technology strategy not only within C&RS but within the wider S&P Global Market Intelligence organization

    What’s in it for you?

  • Develop a technology execution strategy that delivers organic revenue growth, reduces technology sprawl, and manages technology-related operational risk to an acceptable level
  • Ideate with business development on product design, customer solutions and integration
  • Lead a globally distributed team of developers across North America, EMEA and India and empower them to deliver effectively to product roadmaps
  • Interact with executives and/or major customers, utilizing negotiating and influencing skills when matters are significant to the business line
  • Be at the forefront of key technological advances that can add to our product suite, be that Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, or using Graphical Processing Units to speed up our analytical computations
  • Contribute to divisional and company data and platform strategies

    • Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical organization responsible for design, engineering, and support of all products within the C&RS business line
  • Establish a best-in-class engineering organization through talent investment, innovation, and measured execution
  • Lead your teams to make use of and contribute to common division technology capabilities where available
  • Show financial discipline and account for the cost implications of all technology spend across vendors, architecture and provisioning decisions and engage with your business partners to ensure the business line has a proactive view towards technology operational expense

    • What We’re Looking For

  • Strong Capital Markets knowledge with an emphasis on Credit, Markets and Risk Analytics
  • Proven track record of architecting and building performant distributed systems for Financial Markets
  • Deep Experience using Big Data technologies to aggregate large datasets for the purposes of credit and market risk management of a portfolio across all asset classes
  • Strong technology leadership in architecture, design, and performance tuning
  • In depth knowledge of Cloud vendors managed services, with the expertise to pick and choose relevant technologies to enable a faster time to market, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Technology pre-sales experience along with client and stakeholder management skills for large business organizations
  • Experienced leader and manager with a background in dealing with globally dispersed teams
  • Strong inter-personal and influencing skills
  • Open-minded, flexible, and willing to adapt to changing business requirements
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Experience of working with development methodologies like Agile, Kanban
