The Role

As a Senior Finance Manager, within our Cavendish Nuclear part of the business, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. From decommissioning redundant nuclear facilities, through supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, to supporting the operation and build of nuclear power plants, our role in Cavendish Nuclear is to clean up the nuclear legacy and create a world where nuclear plays a key contribution in protecting our nation, ensuring security of energy supply and meeting our net zero commitments.

Day to day, you’ll be responsible for accounting operations and governance within a number of business units or functional overhead areas, ensuring all accounting and stakeholder policies, requirements and deadlines are fully met; all the while, supporting the Business Unit directors and functional directors (for overheads) in delivery of financial targets, as well as meeting business unit reporting requirements.

  • Support business unit management in continuously striving to enhance their bottom line performance, and overhead owners to meet budget targets and drive continuous improvement in managing overhead spend.
  • Develop action focussed periodic reporting processes to monitor and challenge the operational businesses to maximise financial performance.
  • Ensure that cost and income collection processes are adhered to in line with company contract management and financial procedures.
  • Work with the business unit management teams in challenging and amending the processes used to operate/control the unit’s performance.
  • Essential Experience of the Senior Finance Manager:

  • Accounting qualification (ACA, ACMA, ACCA) or equivalent.
  • Extensive post qualified experience.
  • Project accounting experience.
  • Strong business / process analysis skills.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills at all levels.
  • This is a full time position that allows for you to working in a hybrid / flexible working model, from our Dalton Avenue, Warrington Offices, with occasional travel.

    The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
