A leading manufacturer of uPVC building products including windows, doors, fascia systems, guttering and prefabricated building components is looking for a Category Manager to join their team.

The main function is to support the creation and development of long term plans and strategies for the success of various products within the group, working closely with senior management.

You will work with cross functional teams to support the redefinition of product categories in priority order, work with regional management to define the optimal product range in a category and establish realistic price points to be targeted. You will also make recommendations on stock holdings and product exit strategies.

Other duties will include:

  • Support the development of term development strategies for product categories
  • Support the redefinition of product categories and optimal product range by using analysis to provide insight:
  • Analysis of historical sales, identifying what product mix achieves maximum profit margins.
  • Identifying possible gaps in our range through customer feedback, and supplier suggestions, and monitoring competitor activity.
  • Researching market trends and identifying new products and suppliers
  • Data analysis to determine industry, regional, and customer trends
  • Conduct regular profitability analysis on products and categories.
  • Conduct regular price benchmarking against competitors.
  • Liaise with Marketing to ensure literature and promotions are tailored to reflect the overall category and appeal to target industries and customer groups.
  • Manage Coordinate new product introduction process
  • Maintain key supplier information including contract details, pricing, product specifications, unit of measure and lead times
  • Analyse stock holdings and make recommendations on stock movements to maximise profitability and avoid redundant stock.
