Ackerman Pierce are looking to recruit a Newly Qualified Social Worker within a Children’s MASH team in Barnsley . The vacancy will be for an initial 3-6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstance and your performance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the team by completing recording for example case summaries, chronologies, case recording, placement and matching forms etc.

  • Completing referrals for support as directed by the social worker.

  • Completing financial requests

  • Caring for children when in crisis situation such as edge of care crisis/refuge/homeless etc.

  • Joint visits with social worker and writing up any join visits

  • Direct work – including with children and parents when awaiting allocation from EH/FF – e.g. introductory parenting support- behaviour management support- routines and boundaries advice

  • Supervising contact from time to time when waiting for a service to be implemented from the contact service

  • Placing children alongside SW’s

  • Delivering items to families, reports, food vouchers etc.

  • Contact families and follow up enquiries

  • Phone calls as directed by social worker

  • Well-structured organised team, growing their social worker staffing levels.

    • Minimum Requirements:

  • 1 year post qualifying experience within UK

  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
