Responsibilities
- Regular daily contact with all residents except those who have opted out of this service.
- Liaise and communicate with relevant statutory agencies and voluntary services including doctors, ambulance personnel, clergy, PSNI, social workers, community nurses etc and all other forms of support as appropriate to the welfare of the residents.
- Respond immediately to any emergency received during hours of work, summon appropriate assistance, contact relevant agencies and next of kin of the tenant.
- Consult with Telecare services such as Radius (Connect 24), in accordance with agreed procedures, to ensure systems are in place to support residents who require this type of support service.
- Keep a scheme diary of key events/incidents and keep all scheme paperwork in order. Manage complaints about service delivery, including escalation to the Board of Directors via the Operations Manager as appropriate.
- Supervise the security and proper use of the building and its facilities for the benefits of the residents during working hours.
- Carry out and/or supervise the cleaning of public and communal areas of the building, removal of the bins and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- Carry out testing of call systems, lifts, fire doors, emergency lighting, and supervise the boiler engineer when undertaking checks of the carbon monoxide alarms on an annual basis. Fire alarm checks weekly and fire systems check 6 monthly.
- Manage tenant expectations regarding repairs and raise any property maintenance issues affecting tenant welfare.
- Undertake activities, where appropriate, representing Milibern Trust in a respectful and mutually supportive manner to external groups or the general public.
- Perform other duties requested, which may be appropriate to the role as directed by the Operations Manager.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle as travel will be necessary for the role.
- Manual Handling Training
- First Aid Training (can be completed in appointment)
- Mental Health trained (can be completed in appointment)
Desirable Skills
- Experience of Supported Housing
- An understanding of some of the issues and barriers affecting the housing of military veteran tenants and those needing additional support through disability and mental ill health, including tenants from the emergency services and their dependants.
- An understanding of Diversity and Inclusion.
