Salaried GP required for 4-6 sessions (flexible with days/times) with time allocated for clinical administrative work.

Abertawe Medical Partnership is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed Salaried GP to work alongside our well-established forward thinking friendly and innovative team with a list size of .

Our friendly practice is situated in the Swansea city centre, close to the M4 and the beautiful Gower Coast.

We would welcome applications from newly qualified or experienced GP’s.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. In general the post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone/video consultations, dealing with queries, pathology results, signing repeat prescriptions, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation, using current clinical guidelines, NICE/health pathways guidance.

Assessing the health care needs of patient with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.

Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.

In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.

Providing counselling and health education.

Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.

Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.

Collecting data for audit purposes.

Compiling and issuing computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions.

Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary whever is clinically appropiate.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order .
  • Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act .
  • Qualified General Practitioner (complete certificate of completion of training CCT)
  • Currently on a performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical register.
  • DBS clearance
  • Have had an annual NHS appraisal
  • Desirable

  • Evidence of further postgraduate educational activities in relevant fields.
  • MRCGP
  • DCH
  • DRCOG
  • Evidence of CPD activities
