Job summary
The post holder with other clinical leads will be a senior member of staff providing supervision, support and advice to staff working within the City and Hackney Crisis Pathway which consists of the Home Treatment Team, Crisis Line, Urgent Assessment Team, Homerton Psychological Medicine and Street Triage.
The Clinical Lead Social Worker will be a champion of the social model of intervention within the crisis resolution services and will ensure that the social factors contributing towards the mental health crisis are recognized and addressed as far as possible.
The successful candidate will be also responsible for undertaking a significant amount of the clinical work involving completing holistic assessments of needs, mental state examination, risk assessments as well as other specific assessments, especially care and support needs assessments according to Care Act and career’s assessments.
The successful candidate will work very closely with other professionals within the multi-disciplinary team including mental health nurses, occupational therapists, support workers, peer support workers, psychiatrists and clinical psychologists.
The role will also encompass clinical management, evidence-based service development, performance management, audit and supervision of junior staff as well as deputizing for the Operational Lead, and to operationally manage the multi-disciplinary team in the absence of the Operational Lead.
Main duties of the job
Our service aims to provide holistic care and support to our clients and their families and you will be working alongside other professionals to champion social model of intervention. You will be one of several clinical lead representing other disciplines (nursing, psychiatry, occupational therapy, etc.) and will be part of the management team supporting the Operational Lead in operational management of the service. You will be a lead on social work and social care related matters and you will be acting as Safeguarding Adults Manager as well as the safeguarding children lead for the service. You will be representing the service on various inter-agency forums such as MARAC, MAPPA, etc. and often you will be deputizing for the Operational Lead.
You must be excited and strongly believe in the social intervention and ensure the social work intervention is equally recognized and utilized throughout the service. You will be involved in the exciting changes to the way the crisis services operate and you will have an opportunity to champion the importance of the social interventions delivered by the crisis services in Hackney and City of London.
You will be line managing various professionals and will be providing professional supervision to social workers within the service as well as from other services in case it is required.
