The Opportunity:

As a Cloud Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing services for the cloud platform, principally Azure, as part of the Cloud Services Team (CST). Working with Product Owners you will enable these services to support the business to unlock value from cloud.

You will be part of a globally dispersed team working flexibly to support incidents and change in line with business priorities.  The CST supports a remote first principle and work life balance. The role reports to the Cloud Engineer – Team Leader.

Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:

Foundation – Cloud Engineer

  • Improves the performance of the service/feature through end-to-end ownership

  • Ensures software continually meets the needs of the business and user

  • Improves quality and removes toil through code and automation

  • Builds security upfront into the services/features available

Leadership – Servant Leadership

  • Promotes collaborative habits and behaviours in the team

  • Helps the team self-improve it’s working practices

You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Experience as a Cloud Engineer delivering sustainable and scalable application/infrastructure using Agile

  • Experience of using Infrastructure as code (IaC) (preferably Terraform)

  • Working with a variety of program languages, e.g. Python, Go or PowerShell

  • Delivering new services/features via an agile DevOps approach 

  • Microsoft Azure platform, Information security for the cloud, e.g. firewalls

  • Good practices in coding and automation processes and ways of working
