The MOD Information Systems (IS) team continue to be the chosen Delivery Partner for UK Defence Support Chain Information Services (SCIS).  Through a positive partnering agreement we work together to improve the reliability and capability of the logistic information systems and services that deliver engineering, supply chain and business intelligence information.  Boeing provides secure, stable and resilient SCIS services by assisting the MOD in streamlining and optimising its end to tend logistics information system into an agile and effective capability that underpins the Defence Support chain.  Defence support requirements are evolving rapidly and Boeing are growing their team in order to better understand the requirements and opportunities, therefore we are recruiting for a Defence IS Opportunities Capture Lead / Account Manager.


This role will assist the MOD IS Programme Manager and the MOD Customer Relations Manager (CRM) in capturing future requirement of Defence Support which will be raised through the Business Modernisation for Support (BMfS) programme.  You will assist the GSM and Digital teams in capture as well as supporting understanding of the requirement and highlighting opportunities that align with the BDUK operating model.  You will also be required to support the Bridging the Gap (BtG) team in fully understanding user requirement and raising opportunities for improvement in service.

In addition this role will be required to work with MOD and BDUK continuous improvement (CI) teams to ensure that improvement opportunities are identified, captured and delivered upon; including how BDUK work collaboratively with other MOD suppliers and partners.  Key to this role will be supporting the CRM with project management of critical engagements with stakeholders including efficient and effective capture of discussion, decisions and outcomes.

Essential knowledge and skills:

  • In depth knowledge of UK Defence Support, preferably within the IS environment.

  • Experience in supporting stakeholders to understand complex requirements.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure clarity in engagements internally and externally.  Professional and competent interaction with all stakeholders is essential.

  • Sound understanding of the Defence acquisition process and how this relates to the approval of IS programmes and its subsequent implementation.

Desirable knowledge and skills:

  • A sound understanding of how the Front Line Commands utilise Defence Logistics capabilities.

  • A ‘Known’ individual within the Defence Support community.

  • Experience and knowledge of emerging technologies and capabilities along with an ability to translate this into opportunities for Defence.

  • Significant experience in Defence Support, or a subject related degree.

  • Eligibility and willingness to undergo SC clearance is required
