About the Aldi Career Change

We are referring, of course, to the Aldi area manager jobs, change careers in a year-long training programme and become a regional boss in the supermarket giant. Supermarket retail is one of the career routes that offer a degree of security.

The Area Manager Programme lasts for a year, and during that time you will learn everything there is to know about the supermarket trade. Once you have successfully completed the programme, you will be in a position to take on your own region and manage a team of staff.

During the 52-week programme,  you will rotate through different parts of the business, from logistics and Buying to Sales and Marketing. You don’t even need to have a background in retail – Aldi is happy to take on people from all walks of life as long as they are passionate about working with customers and committed to learning and career progression.

What is Aldi Looking for From Applicants?

The Area Manager Programme is open to anyone with \experience in a management role and who is up for a challenge. Aldi wants people who are passionate about retail, have excellent problem-solving skills and can lead a team.

You must also have a minimum of a 2:2 degree in any subject (it is fine if you want to retrain) as well as fluent English and a full, clean driving licence. If you want to train specifically for this sort of programme you could get a degree with the Open University.

The application window for the Area Manager Programme is all year round. Often, successful candidates will start their training in September or October – so make sure you can make this fit with your schedule or existing role.
