Branches of the military have IT people, and those communications networks are not only critically important, they can be technologically advanced and complex, too. This not only makes you extremely attractive to potential employers but will likely make your civilian job in tech much easier. Having a similar civilian role to one you had in the military could help you settle into life outside of the military a lot easier.

Mental Health Counsellor/ Psychologist

Many veterans face a unique set of challenges when returning home and transitioning back to civilian life. Many ex-military members seek out specialist help for issues relating to returning to civilian life or specialist mental health issues stemming from their time in the forces. Due to their experiences, veterans often make for empathic counsellors/ psychologists, especially when working with other service members. Many who transition to this career also see it as a way to remain connected to the military.

Personal Trainer

While in the military it is required that you prioritise your physical fitness and lead a healthy lifestyle. There’s no need to give up on this lifestyle when you leave the military, why not turn it into another career? Personal trainers assist clients with their fitness goals by preparing customised fitness and nutrition plans, demonstrating exercises and monitoring progress.
